Who can apply for which registration
The rules the portal checks before a provisional, temporary or permanent application (or a licensure exam application) can be sent. Know them so you can answer applicants.

The portal checks these rules when the applicant saves and sends the form, so an application in your queue has already passed them. You still check the documents behind them: the qualification, the passport and the exam result.
Step by step
- Provisional registration: only after graduating.
- The applicant must have a completed qualification, with the year they finished, on their profile (My profile → Qualifications).
- A student who hasn’t finished is told: Provisional registration opens after you graduate.
- They must not already be registered.
- Temporary registration (Temporal): only for foreign-trained or visiting professionals.
- The applicant must have said on their profile that they trained outside Ghana, or have a foreign-trained application.
- They must give the Reason they need temporary registration, and the Facility where they will work.
- Anyone else is told: Temporary registration is only for foreign-trained or visiting professionals practising in Ghana for a limited time.
- Permanent registration: after provisional registration and a passed licensure exam.
- The applicant must be provisionally registered and have passed the licensure exam.
- The exception: a foreign-trained applicant whose Interview Panel chose Permanent registration, or Licensure examination, then permanent once they pass.
- Licensure exam: only for graduates, or foreign-trained applicants the Interview Panel approved.
- A graduate needs the same completed qualification, with the year finished.
What you will see
- For a foreign-trained applicant, the Interview Panel’s decision decides which registration opens next. The registration application shows that decision in a box.
- In the application, the Qualifications card shows the qualification and the year finished. Check it against the certificate.
