Use your renewal checklist and reminders

The renewal checklist shows exactly what is still missing for your next PIN, counts down the days, and reminds you by SMS and email.

The checklist reads your record as it is now and updates as you go, so you never have to guess what is missing. The dashboard shows the same list in short under Your renewal.

Step by step

  1. Press PIN renewal under Registration in the left menu, or press Checklist on the Your renewal card of the dashboard.
  2. Read the ring: how many items are done, and the days left before your PIN expires.
  3. Work down the list. Each item shows a tick when done, a clock while it waits for someone else, or a circle when it needs you:
    • Registration in good standing.
    • CPD points for …: approved points against your target. Press Log CPD.
    • Mandatory association points, if your profession has them. Press Find a course.
    • Passport photo on your profile: needed to renew, because your PIN, ID card and face check use it. Press Add photo.
    • Apply to renew: shows when the renewal period opens or closes. Press Apply now when it is open.
    • Pay the renewal fee: the amount, and Pay now once you have applied.
    • The Council approves your renewal: when everything is in, you just wait. You get your new PIN by SMS and email.
  4. Under Also worth doing (not needed to renew), finish any profile sections still missing with Fix.
  5. Under Renewal reminders, choose SMS and email, SMS only or Email only. The choice saves at once.

What you will see

  • Everything is in: nothing more to do; the Council will approve your renewal.
  • No renewal needed: you are already in good standing for the year, for example because you were registered this year.
  • The days left turn amber when 30 or fewer are left, and red with Your PIN has expired after the expiry date.
