Provisional registration lets new graduates start their internship or first practice. Temporary registration is for foreign-trained or visiting professionals practising for a limited time.

Step by step

Press Applications under Registration.
Choose your option:
- Provisional registration: for graduates starting internship or practice.
- Temporary registration: for foreign-trained or visiting professionals practising for a limited time.
For temporary registration, also fill in:
- Why do you need temporary registration? (required), for example Visiting specialist on a 6-month programme.
- Facility where you will practise.
Press Save draft, attach your documents (for example your Academic certificate and Academic transcript) and press Send application.
Pay the registration fee.
When it is approved, press Download certificate on the application page.

Who can apply for which

Provisional registration opens only after you graduate. The portal knows you have graduated when a qualification in My profile → Qualifications shows the Year completed. Until then the option is greyed out: Provisional registration opens after you graduate. Add your completed qualification, with the year you finished, under My profile → Qualifications.
Temporary registration is only for foreign-trained or visiting professionals: you said Yes, abroad under Did you train outside Ghana? in My profile, or you have a foreign-trained application. Otherwise it says Temporary registration is only for foreign-trained or visiting professionals practising in Ghana for a limited time.
Foreign-trained applicants wait for the Interview Panel: only the route the Panel chose opens.

What you will see

When approved: your Registration number and Valid until date on the right of the application.
Your certificate: Certificate of Provisional Registration or Certificate of Temporary Registration.
Your status becomes Provisionally registered or Temporarily registered.
